Once you know that you have a substance abuse problem how can you ensure that you will get the services that you are paying for. You may enroll in an expensive rehab only to realize that you are not getting that much quality service.
An expensive rehab should be able to provide you with a battery of psychologists, nutritionists, nurses, doctors and other professionals who will help you quit drinking or abusing drugs. They should also be able to give you quality housing to make your stay comfortable.
When you want to effectively quit drinking or abusing drugs, you should have superior one-on-one counseling. This is essential to your successful recovery. This counseling should be given by a licensed therapist who will know the approach to tackle your particular addiction. The amount of time that they assign for your personal one-on-one counseling will give you an indication of the quality of service available. Rehabs offering 12-step programs, peer group sessions and other forms of group sessions will most probably be charging you more than you really have to. They will be looking at your admission check rather than your welfare.
A rehab center should give you a short tour of their facilities so that you can be sure that they are up to your standards. Take the time to see the sleeping quarters, the recreation rooms and other areas that will be used during your therapy so that you feel comfortable at all times. A rehab should give you a sense of tranquility so that you can successfully recover.
Rehabs are reluctant to give you an itemized costing of what your treatment will cost but if you insist they should be able to tell you how much time they will allocate towards your personal therapy. If despite your insistence they refuse to give you this information then this should serve as a warning sign that you will get less quality than expected.
