What is the Best Whitening Toothpaste?

If you want whiter teeth, then it makes sense to swap your standard toothpaste for whitening toothpaste. However, trying to work out what is the best whitening toothpaste can be difficult.

Every whitening toothpaste on the market will claim to be the best, but the best for you depends on your personal circumstances.

Good whitening toothpastes will have ingredients such as baking soda, peroxide, or aluminum oxide that can help remove stains. Other toothpastes may say they whiten teeth, but if they do not contain the right ingredients they are unlikely to have much of an effect. Some contain more than one whitening ingredient that can improve their whitening power. Checking the ingredients list can also help you decide between toothpastes depending on whether you want to use chemical ingredients or natural ingredients.

If you have sensitive teeth, then you may find using some stronger whitening toothpastes make your teeth hurt so you would be better to choose whitening toothpaste that is also specially formulated for sensitive teeth. These generally use gentler abrasives, which reduce the risk they will cause pain when you use them.

Even though your main aim with using these toothpastes is to get whiter teeth, you should not neglect your oral health in the process. These toothpastes are designed to be used regularly so when you are trying to work out what is the best whitening toothpaste you should also consider how well the toothpaste will clean and protect your teeth.

You may have a favorite brand of toothpaste, but do not assume that a whitening toothpaste made by the same company is necessarily the best. If the first whitening toothpaste you choose does not live up to your expectations, then do not be afraid to experiment with different brands until you find one that suits you.
