Having Cheap Window Shades in your Home

Being budget conscious is not a crime, but tackiness is. When it comes to things like buying clothes or designing your home, you must keep in mind that while cheap is not necessarily bad, quality should still be priority for you.

If you are a proud owner of cheap window shades, here are some things you might want to keep in mind when placing them around your home.

Try not to surround something cheap with other cheap pieces of furniture. Putting cheap window shades next to a fake couch and above a plastic table may not be the best move to make your home look chic. It is best for you to place your cheap window shades alongside more elegant pieces so that these pieces can complement each other instead of making the interior of your home look like a thrift store. While you can save on things like your window shades, there are other pieces of furniture that are meant to last long, so it would be better to treat those as investments. For example, indulge yourself in a long lasting and good quality dining table, and then you can choose to spend less on your window shades. This will make your home interior a creative mix of different pieces.

If you bought cheap window shades, chances are you got these on sale because of minor damages, or they may be second hand. With these conditions in consideration, a tip is for you to mount the shades or shutters on the interior of your home. Because exterior window shades are on the outside of the window and are therefore less protected, it might be better for you to invest in durable exterior shutters. Having interior modern roman shades or plantation shutters will be a little less risk since they are inside the house and can be maintained more closely.

Cheap window shades may also be better used in less formal rooms in your home such as a bedroom or a den, so that it can contribute to the more down to earth and homey atmosphere. You might prefer to keep your living and dining areas more formal.
